  1. I think that part of the Marvel formula
Find something that works and stick with it for a little bit
and just before anyone could maybe say its become stale BAM! Launch a project that's a departure from the norm

    It works!

very excited for what's to come!

  2. I feel like Grace's blindspot for Guardians really effects her perspective on everything else.

  3. Not He-Man, Heavy Metal magazine. I'm not busting chops, most people not in a certain demographical age aren't aware of Heavy Metal (which is still a thing), and even if they're aware of it, they don't know how influential it was. Basically, anyone who had a picture of a wizard or dragon painted on the side of their van was a fan of Heavy Metal; it was geek before geek became trendy.

  4. WOW! You really put yourself out there with these observations. You might be wrong a lot but I have to admire your… ummm… gumption.

  5. He-Man is fucking awsome

  6. WELL….

Aussie's and Kiwis are notoriously at odds with each other for cultural differences and perceived similarities by the rest of the world.

  7. I've been waiting for a new HE-MAN movie for YEARS and Marvel is the one bringing it to me finally with this Thor 3 movie.
Love the logo and the trailer.
    Thanks for this review.

  8. When Grace puts her finger under her lip I fee like saying, "Oh yeah, you've got a good point!"

  9. Im wathing this after viewing the trailer

  10. Grace! You totally foretold the look of the latest teaser trailer and its retro 80s aesthetic!

  11. Props to you for looking up his name to pronounce it correctly Grace!

  12. I think Grace is again, bang on the money,Tikka Wai??? Is an amazing talent, (New Zealander of the year nonetheless!) and as anyone who has seen his movies, Boy, shadows, band wilder people, will make, like James Gunn, ( who was encouraged by Whedon, remember him) and may bring his singular sense of humour to the marvel verse.

  13. Grace u were right Marvel basically take very little risks……Still in awe @ how good this video is.

  14. you didnt talk about capt marvel 🙁

  15. i love the comedic element in marvel movies that keep them relatively light hearted, but i was really hoping for a darker thor movie with ragnarok. i only know a little of the outside story the movie is based off of, but are they not going to make it about the norse apocalypse? i dont see how they could successfully infuse a whole lot of comedy in the ragnarok storyline:/

  16. I honestly that hollywood comedy they have to put in every fightscene in any movie… its annyoing. fight should be dark and sad and intense… not funny and light…

  17. captain america civil war wasnt that dark, only at the end and it was awesome to see how it develops…

  18. I hope you are mistaken on this. I have been looking for a Planet Hulk movie for a long time. Not excited about it being done in the context of a Thor movie. I'll be even more upset if they ruin it by going 80s/cartoony. But then, I also very, very much prefer darker movies anyway. So maybe it would be a good business move to forego my ticket purchase in exchange for ten people who want to see a cartoony Thor and American Gladiator inspired Hulk. I'll just hold out my never ending hope for Spawn.

  19. Met Taika 2 years ago. Never did i think he'll be directing a marvel movie the next years later.

  20. Chris needs to be the new HE-MAN I've been waiting since the early 90's.

  21. I can't wait to see Thor go all "by the power of Odin, I… AM…THOR!!!" and hear some epic Van Halen guitar riff to go with it

  22. when we get to the 90s I really hope dirty grunge jeans DO NOT come back. leave that for when we get to the mid 2000s retro time

  23. you have tiaka waititi wrong, i m from NZ it you may want to look up TVNZ tiaka waitit interview footage.

  24. Grace, u lost me at "everybody liked Ghostbusters" lol!

  25. Yeah shoutout to the people born in the 80s. Love your work 👍🏽

  26. Marvel's not going full cartoon, they're going full retard.

  27. I found elements of the first Thor film very He-man in places. Especially the Cannon movie from 1987. The whole fish out of water story and the holding the Hammer aloft and transforming. All that was missing there was "I have the power!!"

  28. I hate the new Thor logo

  29. ypu wanna know what sells? putting hulk in your movie, problem solved

  30. ive never read a comic before so my next question comes from a place of a moviegoer. why the hell does the hulk need an armor, a shield and a fucking sword?

  31. What do you mean they "went LOTR" and "went GoT"? Just curious.

  32. Antman and Guardians of the Galaxy were both very risky properties to turn into movies, IMO.

  33. u favour critics …..u dont give a review before it hits rotten tomatoes.Sorry but true

  34. Marvel's has taken no risks? Hello, there! Wot about the Guardians of the Galaxy? Or the very first (and then unknown) Iron Man? And Dr Strange? Ant-man? Or the first Thor? Or the first and second Capitain America? And the first ever super-hero assembly of The Avengers? People forget how risky it all sounded, until it became very successful. Has DC taken any risks? – that is with the two of the most renown super-heroes properties – Batman and Superman? I'd say they did not risk enough, because they clearly did not have a vision and still do not have it. Nolan had a vision for Batman, and because of it, those are the only DC movies that matter and stand the test of time. The rest of DC movies are simply uninspired drivel. Do not let your personal grudge with Marvel color your judgement in regards to their accomplishment. Cheers!

  35. Guardians of the Galaxy wasn't a risk for Marvel? A movie featuring a group of characters most non-comic book fans have never heard about.

  36. why is she so hard to watch.

  37. I doubt Kevin was bummed about Civil War's performance. hahaha

  38. Marvel doesn't take risks? hahahaha. Gotg, antman, even doing the avengers was a risk. hahaha

  39. One of the things that made the first film so much fun was that Hemsworth showed his knack for comedy. He played the character a bit like Chris Reeve played Superman – dramatic when he had to be, but willing to go for the humor when the script and director presented the opportunity. What made Dark World less fun was that Hemsworth really didn't get a chance to show his comedy chops. With Ragnarok, we have a director in Taika Watiti who knows how to write and direct comedy. That alone suggests a lighter film – and the idea of going for the He-Man vibe is probably a good one (if that's what Waititi is doing). With the Hulk in the movie, I expect it will do more at that box office than Dark World whether it 'goes full cartoon' or not.

  40. we have been in an 80's nostalgia period for 10 years now grace! the 90's has been the new nostalgia period in recent years. nostalgia movements have always existed in pop culture. for example, the 80's look and style is largely based on the 50's nostalgia that was happening at the time.

  41. I think its too much just by watching the logo. But if its true, could be interesting. I do think the MCU doesn't take risks, its the same formula in every movie. Does it work? yeah, but its turning into a one trick pony.

  42. Hmmmm this is interesting…especially coz when i was a kid, he-man was HUGE here in new zealand. So i agree that he is in the right age group for that fandom. Interesting theory for sure.

  43. she sounded like micky mouse at 1:04

  44. Sounds like a solid theory and I like it!
