HOOOBLE Telescope lol
Kenneth Branagh did a fabulous Job here: He knew, that Marvels Thor is a boring "Mr. Perfect" but the original Thor is not only a Shakespear'ean character, no, it's the stuff Shakespear'ean characters originate from. To bad he couldn't make the sequels.
I love how human Thor is in this scene. He's learnt from his mistakes and come away wiser. In Dark World he looks far older then he does here. Like in this one Thor was in his late teens early 20s. Mid 20s in Avengers, late 20s early 30s in Dark world and Mid 30s in Avengers AOU. At least that's how I see it. Might not be completely correct and I've messed up the time line of movies.
This is why I liked Thor better than Captain America. It has a lot of heart to it. Not that Captain American does have any, but I really felt for Thor.
when she looks at you like that…
thor's game is on point.
Norse mythology is beautiful.
I bet they're kicking themselves in the ass after dr strange. Thor should of been the introduction to magic and unexplainable shit
This is such an amazing scene.. Natalie Portman's acting is just so fucking incredible, when she looks at him with that affectionate yet apprehensive look.. just wow
I really liked this scene because it grounded the MCU a little, even mentioning Hubble Space Telescope. Marvel consulted with the Science & Entertainment Exchange in order to create a sense of scientific plausibility, and in The Avengers the same was done.
You know a scene this romantic is well done when it isn't "50 Shades of Grey"Audience: "Oooooooo snap!"(Applause)Random guy: "Yeah or or or when it ain't "Twilight"Audience: "Yeah". Wooooooooooooo!"
Aww I wanted Thor to explain The Nine Realms in song. Oh well maybe next time. (Looks at the upcoming 3rd Thor movie). Lol jk….kind of.
Thor is finally feeling his way through things
I think this scene was very sexy. Of course not in a sexual manner, but sexy because of the chemistry. A girl who's life is around nothing but science and comes a stranger and never made her feel more happy than to tell a story of where he lives, that she could believe or not. She is attracted by his knowledge and how all he wants to do is share it with her.
Thor 2 had none of this soul. No epic quality. Shame.
YOURE WITH HIM! YOU BROUGHT HIM HERE TO KILL ME!
thank you for putting this scene up… thank you so very much.
what I would give for a girl to look at me like that
She's one of the few people in the MCU that I think is miscast.Natalie Portman as a astrophysicist is about as believable as a three dollar bill.
NOTE: For all the idiots who don't know the difference I'm referring to her acting in THIS movie, not her education, because no one can take that away from her.
This is a brilliant, beautiful movie. It's also the only MCU movie that I can watch again and again without it losing it's charm. Great vid.
Can someone give me a definitive answer as the what the official 9 Realms are in relation to the Marvel universe. Because the way I see it, there are 10 (Not including the severed realm of Heven) from different places that I read.
Now I know Asgard, Midgard, Jotunheim, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Svartelfheim, Nidavellir and Muspellheim. But in different lists that I see, Helheim and Nifelheim seem to always get changed for the other depending of where you read it from. Was just wondering which one is supposed to be the 9th official realm?
So the screen cuts to dark, then they're lying together and Thor gets up saying "Thank you, Jane"It really looks like they just screwed each other and Disney Marvel sanitized the scene out of existence.
Not sure why I love this part so much. Maybe because I've always been interested / intrigued by the possibility of life elsewhere. There's not much of "mainstream education" that really does it for me, so I'm always searching "outside the book": (Stargates/Portals, UFO's, Parallel Dimensions, Time Travel, etc.). And then there's the connection these two have. I've kind of given up on finding that perfect mate, here on Earth anyways. Just too much drama and work lol. I get enough of that at 'work'. 😉 So I've been thinking for many years, that my soulmate may be someone from "elsewhere" ;-). I guess this is why I love this scene.
This is the perfect romance scene it embodies me and the one I love our bond is strong and unbreakable
I don't understand how anyone would shit on this movie or say its not good. Sure its cheesy, and maybe it doesn't live up to any other blockbuster, but its the story and characters that count. The ones you can relate to, smile for, and look up to. Especially making the character of Thor, a god, more human was a tough task, both Kenneth Branagh pulled it off perfectly. I'm come out of this movie learning so much, and wanting to become so much more. It's the kind of stuff that kids need to grow up on, and the stuff that brings the kid in us out.
Okay, so the nine realms…Asgard,Jotunheim,Nidavellir,Vanaheim,Svartalfheim,Alfheim,Muspellheim,Helheim and last but not least, Midgard, which is Earth.
i love how they look at each other when they think the other is not LOOKING, i want them together SO BADDDDDDDD.
Can anyone tell me the name of the music in this scene? So beautiful….
this is a wonderful scene – gives the movie real heart
@Ifaril and anyone else wondering the names of the 9 realms including the ones he missed are: Asgard, Vanaheim, Alfheim, Jotunheim, Midgard, Svartalfheim, Nidavelir, Muspelheim and Nifelheim.
God help me I love this movie!
I love that scene
are they trying to speak icelandic??
its seems that they dont even have a clue what they are talking about ….and this movie is called thor..where his is blonde…and like 30
ughh marvel make your own stuff and stop literally trying to chance old religions
Tell me if the story of Thor sounds familiar: God (King Odin) sends his son (Thor) to Earth to be its savior
One of the few complaints I have about it was some of the visual effects and production design and some of the costumes and the ending. But the story and acting was pretty decent!
I like the way he thinks about her. He was still able to keep his promise to her by bringing her notebook back after what happened to him. It is like she eased his pain about being away from his home. She was there for him when he needed help the most. To talk to someone that believed in him from the beginning when he first got to earth. Their relationship is amazing and rare to have for everyone to experience at least once in a lifetime. Great movie.
The way she looks at him, i'd love to know that a girl looked at me like that…even for a second.
If only we lived in a world where good hearts, knowledge and not material things won the hearts of others.
I liked how Thor really wanted to impress Jane.
Man, they did a great job with this movie considering Thor's actual history in the comics. No Donald Blake or anything, it makes for a much more interesting story. Much more fresh.
Thro and Jane are just meant to be together.
